NEW YORK — A Long Beach, Long Island woman got the bad news that she had breast cancer. She underwent a double mastectomy and then was told the lab made a mistake and she didn't have cancer.

Her attorney says Eason was the victim of a mix-up at the the CBLPath medical lab in Rye Brook. Eason has filed a lawsuit against CBLPath in State Supreme Court in Mineola last month seeking an undisclosed sum of money.

A state report blames the mix-up on a technician who admitted cutting corners while labeling tissue specimens.

CBLPath chief executive William Curtis said he was familiar with Eason's case but could not speak about any of his company's patients because of federal privacy laws. He said the doctor who signed off on Eason's diagnosis, no longer works for the company.

The technician responsible for the mix-up, also is no longer with the company.

Texas Woman Gets Year in Prison for Crashing Weddings
Friday, October 05, 2007

SAN ANTONIO — A 31-year-old San Antonio woman was sentenced Friday to a year in federal prison for crashing weddings and stealing credit cards from the wedding participants while the couple said their vows.

Robin Neafie pleaded guilty to federal access device charges in April and was sentenced in U.S. District Court on Friday.

Prosecutors said she found weddings by looking through newspaper announcements or local church listings and then showing up well-dressed for an event.

While the ceremony was going on, authorities said she rifled through wallets and purses left unattended by wedding party members.

Prosecutors said Neafie continued the scheme for four years before being caught in June 2006 after victims reported unauthorized charges.

I found this through a goole search regading Robin Neafie. First off, I knew Robin. I was a victim, but not at my wedding. Robin was a close friend of my mother, and I went to stay with her for a summer. She stole my pictures, and posted them to chat rooms, made up ficticious email addresses for herself pretending to be me, told people she had adopted me because my mother was horrible, among other things. This woman is whacked. I found credit cards that weren't her's at her home, and was the first person to report her. Basically what I have to say is, be careful.
